Project Healing Waters in Castalia Ohio 2012 Fall Peonies Planting
Fork River to plant some peonies. Although these flowering plants are beautiful in full bloom, the reason for planting them on the river banks was to help curb erosion. Another reason for the choice was that these plant attract ants by the hundreds. Even though ants are strong enough to lift fifty times their own weight an unexpected gust of wind routinely blows ants off of the plant; some of which become trout treats. Do you have any black ants in your fly box arsenal? Maybe you should, because they are easy to tie and effective to fish during certain times during the year. |
